The Top 5 Reasons To Leave Iraq

The Iraq war has been going on for some time now, and quite frankly it disgusts me. I support our troops completely and as whole heartedly as you can, but here is the Top 5 reasons why should be leaving Iraq.

#5) It is a Distraction To Real Threats

The Iraq war is a complete and utter distraction. I keep waking up every day hoping that the Bush Administration will have woken up and realized that there isn't and never will be Al-Qaeda in Iraq. The members of Al-Qaeda are probably not as stupid as we take them to be, Al-Qaeda isn't in Iraq because we are! It is as simple as that. The real threat of the world is Korea and Pakistan, not the poor Iraqi's.

#4) Accomplished The Original Goals Set Out

So far in the war the Bush Administration has claimed a lot of goals in Iraq --like removing their evil dictator-- we have accomplished all but one of these claimed goals, Iraq's Liberation, and so why do we not end this war. The Iraqi's continue to have opportunities to hold democratic elections and have democratic officers, yet they refuse them and just elect the same old people from their last regime.

#3) Iraq Liberation Will Not Happen In the Near Future

Iraqi's are still living in fear even years after Saddam's fall, women still have to fear leaving their house. The people of Iraq will probably tell you themselves that their economy before the war was much better, and even though non of them were rich, they could at least survive. Where as now they are without water, gasoline, propane, or any other essential living need. This is another reason to leave Iraq, we are only doing more damage to their economy by staying. You cannot say people are liberated if they are working 3 jobs and scared to leave their homes.

#2) National Debt

With each passing month now the national debt raises in the billions each month--estimated over $12 billion a month now-- and is predicted to cost us over $3 trillion by the time we finally get completely out in around 2017-2020, and those are considered conservative numbers! We cannot continue to spend this much money and expect to have any economy at all left here in the future. We must leave Iraq before the cost of the war sends us into another depression!

#1) Deathtoll

Currently the official death total in Iraq has surpassed the 4,000 mark, and thats just what the government tells us, and the injuries sustained estimated right around 30,000. We cannot afford to put more people in harms way for a lost cause, it will only make people sad and angry. This is the reasons we should be leaving Iraq.

There you have it, the Top 5 reasons to leave Iraq.

The Top 5 Reasons We Are Slipping Into Recession

Asa hugely popular subject across the board right now I decided to do a list. There are probably too many reasons to list but, we will try.

#5) Energy Consumption Compared to Cost

Every day in the US we are using millions of gallons of gasoline and thousands of tons of coal. These energies are very expensive, gas is $3.30 a gallon and energy bills are through the roof. People cannot afford these prices and are forced to sacrifice in areas that they should not have to such as-- families are having to decide whether to buy those few gallons of gas to get to work or pay for their electric bill. Energy consumption versus price is a big reason a recession is a looming matter for the US.

#4)Housing Crisis

Us families are finding it harder and harder to pay bills that before they had no problem paying. This is because mortgage rates are the highest in US history and families are being forced to over-pay on their houses mortgage leaving no room left to cover the cable or phone bill.

#3) Horrible Unemployment

More people are out of work now than we ever seen. Companies that were once on your street corner are now an empty building. So many companies are going out of business that employment-- other than fast food-- is becoming nearly impossible to find. People are being laid off in order to keep companies from go under and the people getting laid off cannot find work.

#2) Careless Spending Turns Into The Biggest National Debt Ever

The spending of our government, whether the war or company bailouts, has been radical at the least. We cannot escape a major economic melt-down if our government keeps bailing out billion dollar companies like 'Bear Stearns'. There are people who need the money to keep their houses or send their kids to college, do not spend $30 billion on a company that already had that much money to begin with. The war has been a very costly and useless effort. It has driven up gas prices and gotten us nowhere.

#1) The War

The government is pouring billions of dollars into the war every month. In fact we have spent so much money over the course of the last 8 years that the national debt has doubled... doubled from $5 trillion to $10 trillion. The wars have accounted for over half of that.

These are the reasons we are slipping into recession and will eventually be in a full recession.
