The Top 5 Reasons To Get a Desktop Over A Laptop

In recent memory the laptop has become exceedingly popular, with only one real upside and that is Portability/internet anywhere/files anywhere. So I decided I would make my point and list out all of the reasons that make the desktop go round. Here is the Top 5(T5R) reasons to get a desktop.

#5) Keyboards And Mouses Better On Desktop

The keyboards and mouses are a lot more comfortable and easier to use on a desktop. On a laptop your fingers will begin cramping and it is hard to have accuracy when your fingers have no room to move. The touch-pad on a laptop is horrible, it is easy to accidently click on things and moving the mouse effectively takes a lot of finger sliding. This is just one of those small but important things about desktops.

#4) More Comfortable

Computer chairs are awesome and I refuse to be pried from mine. Good luck carrying around your chair with you when you go to your local hotspot. Sitting in hard unconfortable chairs or in wierd positions is almost guaranteed to happen, and it just isn't good on you --especially if you plan to be in the chair for long--.

#3) More Options

With a desktop you have an unlimited amount of interchangeable parts. You can pretty much modify your desktop in any way you want and it is a hell of a lot easier than a laptop. Whether you want to change out your case or add in a new cooling system there is an almost unlimited amount of things you can do. Laptops do not have this luxury nor will they anytime in the forseeable future.

#2) Easier To Upgrade

For a long time it has been the achilles heel of the laptop that it just wasn't easy to upgrade, and that is not about to change. A desktop user can switch out video cards or memory in a matter of minutes, but on a laptop it is a long process of unscrewing things and trying to get the laptop apart and back together and even then it is harder to change out the memory and you wont be changing the video card either.

#1) More Bang For Your Buck

Parts for laptops tend to cost a lot more than they do for a desktop. I attribute this to the fact that laptop parts are a little harder to find and a little more specifically designed to fit the shape of the laptop. Desktops allow you to buy more for less than a laptop, and this is why it is the #1 reason to buy a desktop over a laptop.

Another Top 5 Down, feel free to comment.

I would also like to send out a special notice that I will be adding in a more personal archive in order to make it easier to navigate through my old articles.

That new Archiver can be found here "New Archiver"
I am not real sure why but it seems to have a problem with IE but works with Opera and Safari, sorry for the inconvienence I am figuring it out quickly

The Top 5 Reasons To Switch to PC Gaming

Here are the top 5 reasons I believe you should be switching to PC Gaming. The reasons in order of least importance to most importance!

#5) Cheaper

When you go out and buy a PC to use for gaming you are really taking out two birds with one stone. In todays world a PC is almost a mandatory thing. When you buy a PC for gaming and general use you are actually saving yourself a few dollars, heres why. In order to build a gaming PC the only thing you really need extra is a video card. Most computers built today have plenty of RAM and plenty of processing power. A good video card that will last you a few years is probably going to cost you around $150. You do not necessarily need a real fancy video card though because PC games have a wide range of available Screen Resolutions and video card settings. Game consoles are expensive and paying an extra $150 to your PC or paying $400 for a console should be a no brainer, you save $250.

#4) Computers Longevity

Computers last forever, most PC's last for about 5-10 years and if you buy a good video card you probably will not have to buy a new one for at least 4 years. New game consoles are released about every 3-5 years and so you can assume to keep up with the industry you will be buying a new card to support new graphics every 4 years. Figuring that your computer has a PCI Express 16x slot that should be good for at least the next 10 years and in which case you can update your card every time you need to till then.

#3) The PC Has a Huge Games Library

The Pc has a load of games and most of these games are games you will find on other systems. A lot of times if a game is good on a console it goes to the PC eventually anyways. You see a lot of games on PC that you cannot find on consoles, the civilizations and the Starcrafts of the world. There is something for everyone on PC and most of these games are flexible enough to work with most graphics cards.

#2) Online Play

The PC has such good online play. It is not just for individual games either, most games you play that have online capability have a really good online service. Not only do you get the excellant online service you also have modified levels and items that you cannot get on a console. You do not have to pay for this excellant service where as on xbox live you will pay, but PSN and Nintendo's online service are also free.

#1) Modifications

The great thing about PC games is that they're incredibly easy to mod. Mods to games makes them a lot better. You never run out of content and there are mods for every game! These mods can be used online or for personal use. If you do not like the way something works, you just change it. Mods make everything more fun, but you cannot get these as easily on your console due to how hard it is to change and program for. The Modifications to all the PC games makes them my #1 reason to switch to PC gaming.
