The Top 5 Reasons 2008 Will Be Remembered Forever (USA Version)

Unless you have been listening to my grandparents lately, you have probably noticed all of the weird events that have been going on lately--important or not. The year 2008 has a lot to be known by--if you like games, politics, or whatever else it may be, you are probably finding something strange. The year began with a twist and will go out with a bang... or will it? Here is your top 5 reasons 2008 will be remembered forever!

#5) Everything Else

If you have paid attention to the news as of late you have probably heard about the recent merger between Delta and Northwest Airlines, a relatively strange deal that created the worlds largest airline company. That isn't the only business deal though! What about Yahoo! and Microsofts potential deal or Yahoo! and Google's agreement. Think about Nascar where we will see several teams probably merge this season. Mergers are everywhere! What about the wacky sports, the Giants--the worlds most overrated football team beat the perfect Patriots?. Anything and everything is happening! 2008 will be an unforgetable year, and there is more than just obvious reasons why!

#4) Gaming

As much as I love gaming, and I do love it, there is more important things going on in the world this year--so this will be placed in 4th sadly. Just take a look at the list of amazing titles in 2008, I dare you, now tell me that it isn't an incredible line-up making for one of the best years in gaming history. In fact, if you deny this, I will ultimately shun you. This isn't just your average year though, there is something for everyone-- just look at my top 5 games of 2008 list. Spore, GTA IV, MGS4, Starcraft 2, Halo Wars, gears of War 2, *50 other goodens'*. This is the year of the gamer, and you will know it soon enough.

#3) Foreign Affairs

Overseas has become one of the most important issues in 2008, look around, we are at war, China is a growing threat, and people are dying. We need to get the situation under control because eventually this could lead to world war. Essentially, we have the Olympics in Bejing and thousands (if not millions) opposing it. We will remember 2008 for more than just the things that happened in America.

#2) Economy

Any year but a Presidential Election year this would have made the list at #1. The economy is being murdered, strike that, has already deceased. We are in a "slow down" (due to technicalities re-defining the term "recession") but in reallity we are in a recession. Things are looking down-- you have rising gas prices, rising food prices, rising cost of living (electricity, water, satellite, whatevah). We can no longer be like this and unless the Bush administration realizes our true needs (essentially we need to raise taxes and subsidize the farmers). Getting off track but, if we raise taxes we will -- a) add money to the economy -- b) help pay back our national debt (or at least keep it from going up)which will eventually make the dollar more valuable. If we subsidize our farmers it will drive down food costs and help us better our selves in such categories as alternative fuel. The economy will make 2008 remembered forever.

#1) Politics

There is nothing more important that will happen this year than the presidential election. Already we are seeing a great showing in the primaries. An election can change the world. An election can make your life as good as it gets or complete hell, and those are just a couple reasons why this is more important. If we elect a good president then we can relieve ourselves of the national debt and get our economy back on track, they will be remembered forever. If we elect a bad president who only makes things worse, they will be remembered forever. Elections are almost always unforgettable, because they change your life in so many different ways.

I hope you enjoyed the list, feel free to comment below or post in my forum(recommended).

The Top 5 Reasons The Tax Rebate Wont Help The Economy

A popular talk across the internet as of late has been whether or not this tax rebate will help the economy. So once again I have decided to make a top 5 list of reasons as to why it wont help the economy.

#5) Will Drive Up Gas Prices

With gases prices already skyrocketing we can only that they will rise with this rebate. Whenever the government borrows $100 billion they normally have some idea as to how they plan to pay it back, and it will probably come in the form of gasoline.

#4) People Will Buy Foreign Products

Most likely if you plan to buy goods with this rebate you will be buying your goods from a foreign company. How can you not though? Most of what Walmart sells is from foreign countries and chances are you shop at Walmart. All this does is help out the foreign countries and their economy's.

#3) Won't Create Jobs

Another reason that this will not help the economy is that is will not create many jobs. Giving people money will not make them more inclined to get a job, in fact I think it may worsen the opportunity for jobs. If the government is going to support you why get a job.

#2) People Will Pay Bills

In a severely burned economy people will be paying up their bills with the rebate, not stimulating the economy. Right now we have such housing prices and people owe so much on their mortgage it will be hard for them to go off and buy things, even then it probably will not be American made.

#1) Inflation

Every time the government borrows money from China the value of the dollar goes down. The problem here is that we are putting more cash into our economy while not taking any out. I think that it isn't as bad of inflation as normally printing off cash because the money is backed by us having to give it back.

Another top 5 down. Please feel free to comment below, remember it does not require you to sign in you can post anonymous.
