Top 5 Reasons To Use Fluorescent Light Bulbs

After getting the question as to why I use fluorescent light bulbs earlier today, I began to think that might make a good list. So here it is. (please note CFL= Compact Flourescent Lamp/light bulb)

#5) Easier On The Eyes

It is a lot easier to look at a fluorescent light bulb than a normal one. It makes the room appear brighter and reflects better off the walls. I like the overall look of the flourescent light bulbs a lot better than the normal light bulbs.

#4) Good For The Environment

When you use a compact fluorescent light bulb you are using about 1/10 of the electricity of a normal bulb. Therefore the electric companies are burning a lot less coal(or other form of energy), which helps the environment.

#3) Last Longer

The flourescent light bulb lasts forever, and you can buy them in different life categories. The incandescent last about 1000 hrs, where as a CFL can last 6000-15000 hrs. So even though you are paying a few extra dollars for a package, in the long run you will get it back.

#2) Energy Saving

CFL's save a lot of energy, try 10 times what you normally use with an incandesecent. This adds up huge on your energy bill, not only will be paying you back for the cost of the bulb-- your already saving money by how long it lasts.

Money is always good, and for those of you who have a $500 a month energy bill you feel me. These things save you loads, enough to where it is the thing pays for itself within a couple months. When they say you can save $500 a year on your bill they are not joking.

I recommend everyone to use CFL's, not only for the money they save, but for the environmental help and energy saving it does. All of the ideas to use one are interlaced, but each play their own individual part in why to use them.
